About Us

Cosy, country cottage set in the middle of the Ashdown Forest. Perfect for immersing yourself in the World of Pooh Bear, enjoying countryside walks, and recovering with a beer or two at one of the local country pubs. Also located close to multiple National Trust properties, the Bluebell Railway, local villages Hartfield and Forest Row, and a 15-minute drive to East Grinstead, 25-minutes to Tunbridge Wells, and 60-minutes to Brighton.

Off street parking is for one car, or two cars upon request.

The space

Fully contained cottage, with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, through to a longer term stay. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook up a full breakfast or dinner. The bedroom has hanging space for shirts, through to a chest of drawers for clothes and a dressing table with mirror. Complimentary shampoo and conditioner can be found in the bathroom, and wifi is free and available to use throughout your stay. Upon request, the sofa on the ground floor level can convert to a sofa bed for one person for a small extra charge.

Indulge in the luxuries of dressing gowns, a wood burner on colder days, and your own private deck to enjoy the countryside and spot the deer from time to time! Relax to the sound of the stream, or curl up on the sofa and enjoy a film or two from the collection of DVDs.

The entire cottage and decking at the rear is for private use by the guests. The car parking area is shared, but guests have their own allocated space.

Local Amenities

The local pub is The Hatch, known for great food and beer so be sure to book early as they regularly get full! The nearby villages of Nutley, Forest Row and Crowborough offer a great selection of pubs and restaurants for eat-in or takeaway and we’d be happy to offer recommendations if you let us know what you’re after.

The main activities are walking and hiking the forest, golf and spa facilities at the Ashdown Park Hotel, visiting National Trust properties and local vineyards or enjoying the shopping, attractions and entertainment of nearby bigger towns and cities, particularly Brighton and Tunbridge Wells. There’s something for everyone nearby!
